A Survey of Constraint Logic Programming

Constraint Logic Programming (CLP)is a new method of logic programming which has been developed rapidly during 1980's. It combines the declarative expressions of logic programming and the effectiveness of constraint solver. This paper describes the foundation, syntax and formal semantics of CLP. Then some instances of CLP languages are given and compared. Finally,some trends of researching in CLP are introduced.
