A NEW SPECIES OF ALBUGINACEAE
|
Abstract:
A new species Albugo pileae Tao et Y. Qin sp. nov. parasitic on Pilea fasciata belonging to Urticaceae collected from Sichuan is described. Albugo pileae shows certain similarities to A. candida and A. ipomoeae-aquaticae but it differs from these two species not only in parasitizing on different host families but also in morphologically. This new species is easily distinguished from the proceding species by its smooth epispore and smaller size of oospore. A. pileae sp. nov. is the first record of an Albugo parasitizing on the family Urticaceae. Latin and Chinese diagnoses for the new species are given. Type specimen of the new species is deposited in Sichuan Agricultural College, Ya'an, Sichuan, China.
