INHIBITION EFFECT OF DIMBOA ON FUSARIUM GRAMINEARUM AND BIPOLARIS MAYDIS
|
Abstract:
The Inhibitory effect of DIMBOA (2,4-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4- benzoxazine- 3-one) on Fusarium graminearum and Bipolaris maydis was evaluated by the methods of mycelial growth rate and spore germination. The results showed that DIMBOA had no effect on mycelial growth of the two fungal species on potato dextrose agar containing 0.2-1.0 mg/ml DIMBOA. At the concentrations of 0.4-1.0 mg/ml, DIMBOA significantly restrained the spore germination of Fusarium graminearum and Bipolaris maydis. As the concentration of DIMBOA reached 1.0 mg/ml and the experimental pathogens were incubated 15h and 5h in this chemical solution respectively, the inhibition rates of spore germination were 100% for Fusarium graminearum and 83.6% for Bipolaris maydis.
