ULTRASTRUCTURE AND CYTOCHEMISTRY OF INTERCELLULAY HYPHAE OF WHEAT STRIPE RUST
小麦条锈菌胞间菌丝的超微结构和细胞化学研究

Ultrastructure of intercellular hyphae of wheat stripe rust was studies with electron microscopy and cytochemical methods in this paper.It was observed that there were two types of intercellular hyphae,septal hyphae and hyphae without septum.Multinuclei con- dition in the hyphae was very common.Conversional and cytochemical staining revealed that the wall of intercellular hyphae consisted of four layers,septal wall three layers,and the inner layer of the former and the outer layer of the latter were continuous.Intercellular hyphae and septa contain protein and polysaccharides.According to observaion the developmem of se- ptum could be dividing into three stages,the formation of septal initial,the extension of septal wall and the formation of septal pore structure.Furthermore,the anastomosis between inter- cerlular hyphae was observed in this research.The results indicated that some characteristics of intercellular hyphae of wheat stripe rust was obviougly different from those of other rusts.
