TAXA OF THE GENUS BREMIA ON THE FAMILY COMPOSITAE FROM CHINA
|
Abstract:
This paper mainly deals with the taxonomical problems in Bremia on Compositae. Based on the authors' view-point: the morphological characteristics of obligate parasitic fungi are provided the chief criteria for species delimitation, and the specificity or host range being considered in conjunction with morphology. The host range of each species of Bremia on Compositae to be limited in the single "tribe" of host are suggested. Key to the known species and varieties of the genus Bremia on Compositae from China is presnted. One new species and one new combination are reported as Bremia lagoseridis Yu & Tao (on Lagoseris sancta) and Bremia cirsii (Jaczewski ex Uljanish.) Tao & Yu (on Cirsium spp.). All the specimens cited in this paper are deposited in the Mycological Laboratory of Sichuan Agricultural University and Herbarium Mycologicum Academiae Sinicae (HMAS), Beijing.
