FACTOR ANALYSIS FOR QUANTITATIVE TRAITS IN LENTINULA EDODES

Sixteen quantitative traits of 22 strains in Lentinula edodes were classified into five principal factors with low correlation through the method of factor analysis. According to the included traits and the biological implication revealed, the five principal factors, explaining 85.71% of the total variance, were named below: F1, stipe factor, F2, reproductive factor, F3, vegetative growth factor, F4, colour-changing factor and F5, fruitbody feature factor. Based on the variance contribution, the order of these main factors was F5, F1, F3, F4 and F2.The selective efficiency and the objective pertinency on breeding will be raised by means of main factors in Lentinula edodes.
