EFFECT OF DIFFERENT SUBSTRATES ON MORPHOGENESIS OF CONIDIAL TRAP OF ARTHROBOTRYS DACTYLOIDES
|
Abstract:
Arthrobotrys dactyloides, a species of nematode-trapping fungi, formed conidial trap induced with soils and cow dung. The morphogenesis of conidial traps is similar to that formed commonly on vegetative hyphae. Different substrates have different abilities inducing conidial trap. The capabilities of forming conidial trap are different among strains of Arthrobotrys dactyloides. Results of preincubation and temperature treatment experiments suggest the main factors inducing conidial trap in substrates are certain compounds rather than microorganism.
