NOTES ON PESTALOTIOPSIS MACULANS (CDA.) NAG RAJ,A CAUSAL AGENT OF GRAY LEAF SPOT OF CAMELLIA

The correct name of causal agent of gray leaf spot Camellia is Pestalotiopsis maculans (Cda.) Nag Raj.Both Pestalotia guepini Desm.and Pestalotiopsis guepini (Desm.) Stey.should be its synonyms.In this paper the morphological characteristics,cultural characters, pathogenicity,the host plant range,and soluble protein electrophoresis patterns of Pestalottopsis maculans are described based on the taxonomic study on the specimens and isolates collected from different parts of China since 1978.
