SPECIES DIVERSITY OF ASCOMYCETOUS YEASTS IN QINLING AREA OF SHANXI PROVINCE
|
Abstract:
262 ascomycetous yeast strains were isolated from plant materials collected from Qinling area in Shanxi Province. These strains were identified mainly based on the 26S rDNA D1/D2 domain sequence analysis. Among them, 31 species belonging to 10 genera were recognized. The dominant genera identified were Candida (12 species), Saccharomyces (5 species), Pichia (5 species) and Hanseniaspora (3 species). Hanseniaspora uvarum, Candida melibiosica, Pichia fermentans and Clavispora lusitaniae were the most widely distributed species in Qinling area. Though in different attitudes of Taibai Mountain, the highest peak (3767 m above sea level) in the Qinling mountain range, the vegetation patterns are clearly different, the corresponding differences in ascomycetous yeast distribution were not found in the present study.
