COMPARATIVE MOLECULAR KARYOTYPE ANALYSIS OF FOUR CANDIDA SPECIES AND THEIR TELEOMORPHS
|
Abstract:
Comparative molecular karyotype analysis by using pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) showed that the type strains of each of the following established anamorphteleomorph counterparts: Candida guilliermondiiPichia guilliermondii, Candida kruseiIssatchenkia orientalis, Candida naganishii Debaryomyces nepalensis and Candida validaPichia membraefaciens had similar or identical chromosomal DNA banding patterns. This result indicates the potential usage of electrophoretic karyotyping in the establishment and confirmation of anamorphteleomorph connections in yeasts.
