THE ISOLATION,IDENTIFICATION,CULTURE AND HOSTS OF CONIDIOBOLUS THROMBOIDES
|
Abstract:
In 1981,a species of entomogenous fungus was isolated from dead insect bodies of Aphis craccivora Koch. The species was identified as Conidiobolus thromboides Drechsler of the genus Conidiobolus. The species was casy to isolate and cultivate;and with a large number of resting spores developed on media resting spores germinated rather easily.Percentage of germination was 53% over a period of up to 6 days. The organism could infect many species of aphids.Hence it is hopeful to be used as a fungus agent for aphis control.
