A FIRST CHECKLIST OF LICHENICOLOUS FUNGI FROM CHINA

Records of fungi obligately occurring on lichens in China are compiled from the literature for the first time, and supplemented by recent collections. Twenty-nine species are enumerated, of which nine are newly reported, including first records of representatives of five genera from the country: Ampullifera, Intralichen, Marchandiomyces, Phaeosporobolus, and Stigmidium. By extrapolation from the number of lichens recorded from China, it is estimated that at least 425 species of lichenicolous fungi are to be expected in the country. The new combination Stigmidium cupulare (syn. Pharcidia cupularis) is made.
