DIVERSITY OF MYCOBIONT SUBSTANCES FROM THREE XANTHORIA SPECIES AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN SYSTEMATIC BIOLOGY OF LICHENS
|
Abstract:
The mycobionts of three species, Xanthoria elegans, X. mandschurica and X. alfredi were obtained by ascospore discharge. The mycobiont substances of them were detected by thin layer chromatography (TLC). The results showed that the mycobiont substances of X. alfredi are different from those of others. While the lichen substances of the three corresponding species are completely identical. The significance of the diversity of mycobiont substances in systematic biology of lichens and the delimitation between X. elegans and X. mandschurica are discussed in the present article.
