THE LICHEN GENUS OROPOGON FROM CHINA

A short review about the studies on the genus Oropogon is given, and 5 species of Oropogon from mainland China are reported. They are O. asiaticus, O. formosanus, O, orientalis, O. secalonicus, and O. yunnanensis. O. asiaticus from China includes two chemotypes: chemotype. 1 containing psoromic acid and chemotype II containing psoromic & placodiolic acids. These 5 species are distributed mainly in southwest China: Yunnan, and Sichuan, East Xizang (Tibet).
