A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ELECTROPHORETIC PATTERNS OF SOLUBLE PROTEINS AND ZY-MOGRAMS FROM NINE STRAINS OF RHIZOPUS
|
Abstract:
A comparative study of electrophoretic patterns of the native and de-polymeric soluble proteins and zymograms of esterase isozyme, glucoamylase as well as superoxide dismutase from 9 strains of Rhizopus is reported. There are obvious differences among R. japonicus, R. oryzae, R. nigricans, R. chinences and R. arr-hizus in both electrophoretic pattern of soluble proteins and zymogram of esterase isozyme, especially a subtle difference between two strains of R. oryzae, AS. 3.866 and 3.867, is found in the zymogram of esterase isozyme. The relationship among the nine strains tested is shown by adopting a dendrogram according to a comprehensive analysis of all experiment results, and a favorable evidence for identification of two strains, F1(BR12) and Q303 is provided. This paper is first report in the activity of superoxide dismutase in Rhizopus and has disccused some aspects of valuabili-ty of soluble protein electrophoretic patterns and zymograms in Rhizopus taxonomy.
