A NEW SPECIES OF PAECILOMYCES
拟青霉属的一个新种

Fresh specimens of dead Hepialus sp.bearing stromata with ascospores of Cordyceps hawkesii Gray,collected from Taojiang,Hunan,were isolated and cultured.From these specimens we obtained and identified a new species of Paecilomyces,namely Paeci- lomyces hawkesii Xiao,T.B.Li et Q.T.Chen.The morphological characteristics of the new species are given in comparison with its allied species,P.carneus.We suggest that the new species may be the asexual stage of Cordyceps hawkesii Gray.
