CHARACTERIZATION AND APPLICATION OF PARTIAL GENOMIC LIBRARY OF VOLVARIELLA VOLVACEA

Volvariella volvacea (Bull.: Fr. ) Sing, is difficult of breeding because the fungus is homothallic. We have characterized the partial genomic library of V. volvacea. The average size of genomic DNA insert was 1156 base pairs characterized by specific PCR. Fifty three random clones from the genomic library were non- radioactivity digoxigenin- labeled by specific PCR and characterized by Southern hybridization. Among them, 8% was highly repetitive probes, 36% moderately repetitive probes and 56% single or low- copy probes.
