Abstract:

To simulate tumor deformation and the process of mechanical interaction between tumor and tissues, the authors have made a research into three aspects related to tumor growth.Cellular Automata (CA) was employed to simulate the growth process, and the cells states were updated after deformation to enhance the continuity of growth. The accuracy of penetrated depth will make great influence on deformation rationality and punctuality, and a method based on implicit surface was employed to calculate the penetrated depth vector. To increase the reality of tumor model, the authors also used implicit surface to render tumor model. The simulation results show that a better continuity of shape changes with state updating method of vertices, that the implicit surface calculated with the extracted vertices presents a smooth geometrical model and better reality effects, and that the improved strategy for penetrated depth vector achieves consistent depth vectors.
