Method of removing fog effect from images

Fog is a usual natural phenomenon which can make images misty. The fog degradation was considered as illumination variation. According to Retinex theory and the properties of histogram of fogged images, the MSR algorithm was analyzed, and the normal clipping stretch was deployed to process the output of MSR. Experiments show that this algorithm can effectively remove fog effect from color images.
