Mobility protocol for 6LoWPAN
|
Abstract:
This paper proposed a mobile protocol for 6LoWPAN wireless sensor networks. First, it proposed the 6LoWPAN network architecture, and based on the architecture, presented both the hierarchical IPv6 address structure and the address confi-guration algorithm for 6LoWPAN WSN. Then, based on the proposed architecture, proposed intra-network and inter-network mobility handover algorithms. In the algorithms, a mobile sensor node did not need a care-of address during the mobility process, that is, the mobility handover process did not include the care-of address configuration operation and the address binding operation. As a result, it reduced the mobility handover cost and delay. It analyzed and compared the performance parameters of MIPv6, Inter-MARIO and the proposed protocol, including mobility handover cost, mobility handover delay and packet loss rate. And the data results show that the proposed scheme reduces the mobility handover cost and delay , and decreases the packet loss rate.
