Real-time network subsystem for RTLinux
|
Abstract:
With the explosive growth of the lnternet as well as the widespread use of WWW-related applications, network performance has attracted great attention. In particular, the operating system needs to manage resources under conditions of high load. A new network subsystem architecture based on RTLinux was proposed and evaluated, which provided improved fairness, stability, and increased throughput under high network load. This approach first reassigned resources for data packets of different applications, then initiated protocol process threads which binded with relative real-time task. By maintaining three queues with different priorities and schedule policies, it showed good real time performance.
