Design of labeling map methods for bit-interleaved LDPC-codedstar 16QAM-modulation system

Abstract:
Labeling map is crucial for bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decodingBICM-ID system. Star-16QAM modulation was used widely in mobile communication system, and it had no existence of Gray mapping. In order to maximize the Euclidean square and minimum decision region for bit-interleaved LDPC-coded star-16QAM modulation with itera-tively decoding system, this paper proposed a new signal labeling designed criterion. It designed a new star-16QAM signal labeling based on the proposed method. It compared with different labelings through analysis and computer simulation. Simulation results show that based on the new designed signal labeling, the system achieves a gain of approximately 2. 2 dB in comparison to others at a bit ratio of 10-6.
