RTP encapsulation based inter-layer error concealment method for scalable video

Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) is used to provide real time transportation and quality guarantee of video stream. To solve the problem that the data in the quality enhancement layer of scalable video coding (SVC) stream may lose due to the error in the channel, this paper presented an error concealment method based on RTP encapsulation to locate the position of lost packet, and then determine discard or copy from another layer. Simulation test shows the effectiveness, compatibility and extendibility of the proposed error concealment method.
