Asynchronous optical packet switching based interconnection network node suitable for cloud computing
|
Abstract:
This paper presented an asynchronous optical packet switching router suitable for the cloud computing interconnection network. It adopted the banyan-like routing scheme by the node to realize the multistage distributed management functions, and switched the high speed burst data at every node by using the multicast and asynchronous method, which was helpful to realize the scalable interconnection for the abundant computing and storage nodes. It proposed a recycling-fiber-delay-line based collision resolution mechanism. It introduced the structure of the node, and built and simulated the performance analysis models for the system stabilities and average packet waiting latencies (PWL). The results show that the PWL for a 256-Byte optical packet transmitted in the 32 wavelengths dense wavelength division multiplexing system equals to 0.072 ns.Thus, the node can meet the demands of the cloud computing interconnection network to realize the greater scalability, high-speed, huge-capacity as well as real-time data exchange.
