Abstract:

Embedded system designers usually focused on the stability and real-time during previous designing procedure. Nowadays, minimization of power consumption was one of the most challenging problems during embedded system designing. Based on LP model, a voltage scaling policy called LP based voltage scaling policy was presented for processor with discrete voltage levels. The supply voltage of process could be switched dynamically by LPBVSP according the variance of system workload, and the balance of system between the performance and the power could be obtained thereby. Experimental results demonstrate that the power consumption can be further reduced with the implementation of LPBVSP, which can be far decreased by 59%.
