Application of domain-ontology method in meta-data management of data warehouse

This paper proposed an approach aiming at solving the problem of semantic heterogeneity in the meta-data management of data warehouse by using domain ontology. In the approach, built the mapping between the domain ontology and the local meta-data. Integrated the local meta-data semantically by domain ontology. At last, in a project of medical data warehouse development, analyzed the experiment data. The result shows that the domain ontology method can integrate efficiently the he-terogeneous data from different business units during the application of data warehouse.
