Abstract:

In order to achieve MIMO-OFDM (multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) system's coherent detection, this paper proposed a new channel in time-domain estimation algorithm for MIMO-OFDM system. It gave estimation criteria and training patterns in great detail. The new channel estimation algorithm made the training sequence be orthogonal in time, and due to the correlation of the proposed training patterns, the channel estimation could be acquired conveniently and accurately. Through theoretical analysis and computer simulation, the proposed algorithm's performance is as good as the LS algorithm based on optimal training sequences in time-domain. At the same time the algorithm does not require matrix inversion, and only need a certain number of correlation calculations, so the computation burden is low.
