Research of utility-based routing in delay tolerant networks
|
Abstract:
Since Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks(DTNs) have been proposed as the new evolution of MANET and WSN, the communication between nodes without end-to-end path is possible. DTNs have greate application prospects in the intelligent highway, biological monitoring, satellite communications, rural communication, personal information exchange, etc. Routing is a challenging and absorbing research field in DTNs. This paper introduced the development, challenges and evaluation index of routing in DTN. Then the basic principle and features of utility-based routing protocols were described. Finally, we analyzed and compared these routing protocols, identify open research issues and intend to motivate new research and development in this area.
