Periodically intermittent control of chaotic systems with its application in secure communication

Abstract:
Secure communication schemes based on continuous control method are very easy to be traced or copied. It greatly limits the applications of chaos in secure communication. This paper investigated the synchronization of chaotic systems and its applications in secure communication using the discontinuous control method, i.e., periodically intermittent control. It proved that two coupled chaotic systems could reach synchronization under suitable control conditions, and gave a group of sufficient conditions used to set the control period and control width. The numerical simulation results validate the feasibility of the theoretical results. The proposed method can be used in secure communication to improve the performance of security.
