Performance evaluation of broadcast for vehicular safety applications

Abstract:
This paper first built the simulation platform of vehicular communication network through the simulation software NS-2.29 and VanetMobiSim1.1, then argued the reception rate of periodic message at different distances and deeply discussed the reception rate and access time of two different broadcast messages in the manner of EDCA. Simulation results show that the hidden terminals lead to the packet serious loss of broadcast data, also show different contention window has a great impact on access latency, especially relatively heavy load in the channel. Finally, pointed out a viable solution.
