Modeling and indexing moving objects trajectories based on LRS and GDF

Abstract:
Many models have been proposed to index moving objects trajectories on fixed network currently. Most of these models use the euclidean x,y coordinate to describe the moving objects position and build the index on the simple center line based network. Because these methods neglect the spatial relation between the moving object and the road network, and the inherent complexity of the road network, they have many limitations in perform the queries efficiency. The paper proposed a new index model based on the linear reference method and geographic data file (GDF). It gets a better performance in the position renew and adding. It also contributes to get more reasonable query result.
