Cross-layer design-based power control algorithms for Ad hoc networks

In order to meet the development of various applications and increase performances in Ad hoc networks, cross-layer design is becoming an important research problem in Ad hoc network. This paper studied a number of cross-layer design based power control algorithms for Ad hoc networks. Introduced the definition of cross-layer design, and proposed two typical methods for cross-layer design. Classified and described some cross-layer proposals aiming at power control, and evaluated and studied their performances. Finally, proposed the problems of the cross-layer design based power control algorithms and future research work.
