Survey of clustering validity evaluation

The need for fair methods that can assess the validation of clustering results is becoming more and more critical in cluster analysis applications. The paper surveyed the widely known clustering validity evaluation based on external criteria, internal criteria, and relative criteria. It presented a review of fuzzy clustering validity measures and the determining of optimal number of clusters adaptively.
