On-line measurement of lumber moisture content based on wavelet packet

Lumber moisture content is a key parameter for regulating and controlling wood drying process, its precision directly affects the drying quality, cost and drying time. During drying process, the real-time precise measurement of lumber moisture content is influenced by many factors such as ambient noises from measuring circuit, cross sensitivity existing among multiple environmental factors, etc. To solve the above problems, this paper proposed a kind of wavelet pack de-noising treatment method, extracted the characteristics of lumber moisture content measuring value using wavelet and wavelet packet. The results show that wavelet packet has better filtering effect.
