Evaluation of Twiddler''''s tapping performance
|
Abstract:
The twiddler was a most commonly used input device for wearable computer, its tapping performance directly affected the controllability and usability of wearable computer.According to Fitts' law and reciprocal tapping experiment which Paul Fitts used, the test system which used to test the tapping performance was established. The tapping performances of the Twiddler and the mouse were tested under the same test condition, and large numbers of tested data were obtained and analyzed.According to AIC(Akaike's information criterion),a criterion for statistical model selection, the most superior tapping models of the Twiddler and the mouse were set up.Contrasting to the mouse, the tapping performance and the controllability which the Twiddler owns were lower. When us design the GUI(graphical user interface) of the wearable computer,in order to enhance the controllability of the Twiddler, the index difficulty of the Twiddler's tap should be smaller than 4.
