More project databases are produced when PrefixSpan mines frequent sequential patterns.This paper developed the position value-based sequential pattern mining approach, PVS, which could produce all the sequential patterns without candidate set. And it also recorded the position value of each produced project database, escape of producing the same project database. The experiment shows PVS is more feasible and efficient than PrefixSpan when dealing similar sequential database.
