New Boundary Detection Method of Phlegm Cells Using Mathematical Morphology

Abstract:
According to the characteristics of the changes of grey level distribution near the edges of phlegm cells, image edges are detected for phlegm cells using mathematical morphology based on the traditional differential operators. The result is compared with other edge detection methods such as Sobel operator, Roberts operator, Laplacian operator, which shows that the algorithm of edge detection for phlegm cell image using mathematical morphology has satisfactory results.
