Novel approach to VoIP traffic identification

Traffic identification based on well-known port was not suitable for VoIP.And payload-based or statistical-based analysis had its shortcoming when deployed in real-time monitoring.A novel VoIP traffic identification methodology based on VoIP transportation characteristics was proposed.A tool was implemented on Linux.Experimentation shows that based on transportation layer information,the tool can identify VoIP traffic with a false positive rate about 10%.
