Effect of Rainfall on Orthogonal Polarization of LMDS

Abstract:
A research of the effect of rainfall on orthogonally polarized LMDS with line-of-sight transmission has been completed.Four carrier frequencies of the system concerned between 10GHz and 40GHz inclusive are selected.Result was measured in torrential rain in two heavy rainfall districts with LMDS transmitting horizontally and vertically polarized signals.It is observed that the effect of depolarization caused by rain intensifies as the frequencies increase and such effect is minimal at around 10GHz.
