Transmission Control with RTP Rate Control Unit for Wireless Video Streaming

Abstract:
In this paper, the RTP rate control unit which lie midway between wired networks and wireless radio links is proposed. This scheme can efficiently distinguish quality degradation caused by network congestion from that caused by wireless radio link errors during the multimedia streaming transmission. Simulation results show this scheme can better decide the network condition and improve service quality by controlling the transmission rate and robustness against packet loss.
