Segmentation of MDCT Images Based on Small Region Growing

Abstract:
A segmenting algorithm for the human liver MDCT medical images based on small region growing is presented. At first, this algorithm turns the 3-D human liver MDCT image into a series of 2-D images; Then it distributes many seed points into every 2-D image, and small region growing processes from every seed point; Finally, the results of every 2-D image segmentation are integrated into a whole liver tissue. The experiment results show the accuracy and the feasibility of this algorithm.
