The paper introduces XML, the background of XML database, development trend and relative production briefly at the beginning, and analyzes the principle of XML database roughly. Afterwards it proposes the architecture of standard educational resource content service system which based on the technology of XML database and J2EE platform. Meanwhile, it designs and realizes the functional modules with success. In addition, the paper touches upon the organization and realization of XML document. Through the separation of metadata and content, it actualizes the effective management of educational resources. Furthermore, it realizes the distributed storage and centralized management of educational resources.
