Design and Implementation of XML-based General Search Engine for Directory Service

Directory service plays an important role in modern distributed system, But for XML-based applications the execution and request are displayed in XML which are not supported by traditional directory service technology. This paper focuses on design and implementation of a general search engine which disposes requests from different clients in a uniform method, hence extending the reach of directory and satisfying the new distributed system technology.
