Project of Very Large Image Database Management System Based on Separate Storage

It is one of the key problems for the application of aerial survey images how to structure a Very Large Image Database Management System (VLIDBMS) to store and display super large image quickly.Discusses this problem from several aspects, including the theory of realization, flow of arithmetic and fast storage & display technique and presents three primary techniques for this problem which are thumbnail preview instead of itself, memory stream and dynamic display of super large images. Finally, a system developed by the authors according to the project is presented as an example.
