Hierarchical digital watermarking using human visual system properties in Contourlet domain
|
Abstract:
A novel Contourlet domain hierarchical digital watermarking method, based on the properties of human visual system was proposed. First, region watermark weights and local watermark weights were appropriately set based on the noise sensitivity properties of human visual system to different regions and local features. Watermark was then embedded into decomposed detail subbands of discrete contourlet transform. A new multiresolution detector was proposed for watermark detection. Experimental results and comparisons with other techniques operating in the wavelet domain prove the effectiveness of the new algorithm, including superior imperceptibility, blind detection and robustness to common attacks such as image compression and median filtering.
