Perform adaptive design on update operator and predict operator.In the design of update operator, the existing algorithm are improved. This improvement makes the approximate signal got exhibit preierably the characteristic of original signal.In the design of predict operator, a variable step size LMS algorithm is proposed.In the algorithm the convergence speed is larger than the homologous algorithm.The schemes do not require any additional information enough to achieve perfect reconstruction. These can satisfy the demand on progressive transmission and multiresolution analysis in video compression.
