Abstract:

To measure the width of rock fracture aperture using digital image processing technique,it needs to divide the fracture into a number of segments first.Since information of rock fracture aperture is concentrated at the corners,the paper pre-sents a corner segment algorithm.Divide segments by corner segment algorithm and measure the width of fracture aperture by best-fit rectangle algorithm.It draws the conclusion by analyzing the result: combining corner segment algorithm with best-fit rectangle algorithm is one of the best methods for measuring rock fracture aperture measurement.The method not only achieves automatic measurement by computer,but also improves the accuracy of aperture measurement comparing to other algorithms.
