Fuzzy Logic Control on Freeway with Variable Speed Signs and Its Simulation Research

The speed control for freeway traffic is to limit the velocities of vehicles by using variable speed signs in order to realize the control aim of freeway traffic effectively and safely.The structure of fuzzy control system is analyzed and the fuzzy control algorithm is formulated.The membership functions are given and the fuzzy logic controller for freeway traffic by using variable speed signs is designed.The simulation research is carried out by taking full advantage of a computer. Simulation results show that such an approach is promising.
