The research development of automatic abstracting technology is reviewed. Oriented automatic abstracting system users, this paper introduces the automatic abstracting system and its application, and analyzes the characteristic of statistical abstract and understanding abstract. The developing direction and trend of automatic abstracting technology is prospected as well.
