STUDY ON THE PROCESS MECHANISOM OF HIGH-SPEED ARC WELDING DE-GMAW
|
Abstract:
Through large amount of experiments, the geometrically matched parameters in torch- set up of DE-GMAW(double electrode-gas metal arc welding)were found, and the welding current waveforms, images of metal transfer, and photographs of weld without defects were obtained.Based on these test results, the reasons that DE-GMAW can realize high-speed welding were explained.A finite-element analysis model suitable to DE-GMAW process is developed to simulate the temperature field and stress-strain field. The predicted and measured weld dimensions at cross section matched well, and the weld dimension,heat-affected zone width, stress, strain and deformation in DE-GMAW are much lower than those in conventional GMAW under same welding condition. It provides the basic data for optimizing the process parameters in DE-GMAW.
